I am in a finance Ph.D program right now. If you want to get the most out of finance as a major, make sure that you have a lot of math. At the undergrad level, take the calculus sequence & linear algebra from the math department- don’t bother with the watered down versions offered by B-schools (i.e. calculus for business applications).

There are a lot of career choices & in general, finance jobs usually pay better than jobs in other disciplines.

i would suggest that you begin by wearing clothes. then, go to school.

Pay attention in your accounting, economics and statistics courses that they make you take as prerequisites–especially accounting.

Finance is a good versatile business major. The starting salaries are as good as any business major. You will want to take advantage of a good internship or co-op program is your business school offers it.
